Talk without Speaking

Updated: Sep 29, 2017

"If I dare to hear you

I will feel you like the sun

And grow in your direction"

If we're honest... what we want, is to be listened to... for someone to hear our story... and be genuinely interested in the matter of it. We don't want to be told what to do... we just want someone tuning in, grateful that someone cares enough to shed themselves of everything and everyone else, in that moment... and sense it, feel it.

I have this quote written on my wall at work... "being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person they are almost indistinguishable."

Yes...

Our fears, our accomplishments, our sorrow, our joy, our pain, our triumph... our heartache, our love, they can be answered to by others, those who yield you into safety, whom you trust with your vulnerability, who you can empty your soul with.

Be that gift, be that one, who shows up, who listens... who showers compassion, who loves without pretense and judgement, who holds and empathizes, who exhibits kindness and mercy, who admits all the answers are not within you, offering... yourself.

You are not fulfilled by what you accomplish, you are most fulfilled by what you do for others... and what most of us want from you, is you. Not your treasures, but yourself... and your endless capacity to accept someone as they are... meeting them where they are, not where you want them to be. Immersing your spirit to the voice they are carrying.

Engage yourself the next time you sense someone needs you... stop, be present, still... listen... let them feel your presence.

Open yourself up to the boundless opportunity of hearing someones story, and be there for those sacred moments...

"I honor your path

I drink from your well

I come to our meeting place with an unprotected heart

I hold no cherished outcome

I will not negotiate by withholding

I am not subject to disappointment"

If we can grasp the infinite glory of being available for each other... i have to believe, grace and love will clap for us all.
